Shipping Policy
At Variegated Greens, every plant is a living specimen. Considerable care is taken in preparing and packaging each plant for its journey.
Shipping Within Canada
Variegated Greens currently ships within Canada only.
Shipping Quotes
Because plant shipments can vary considerably in size, weight, destination, number of plants, and packaging requirements, shipping costs are determined individually.
Where a shipping quote is required, customers may submit a request through our online store. A shipping quote will then be prepared based on the order and destination.
When multiple plants are purchased together, we will make every reasonable effort to combine them safely into the same shipment whenever practical. One shipping quote will be provided for the combined shipment as a whole, rather than treating each plant as a separate shipment.
Plant Packaging
Every plant is prepared and packaged with care appropriate to the plant, its size, and the expected journey.
Our packaging methods are intended to help protect plants from movement, physical damage, and reasonable temperature fluctuations during transportation.
Weather & Temperature
Because plants are living and sensitive to environmental conditions, weather may affect when an order can safely be shipped.
During periods of extreme heat or cold, Variegated Greens may recommend delaying shipment when we believe doing so is in the best interest of the plant.
Any recommended delay will be communicated with the customer whenever possible.
Transit Times & Carrier Delays
Estimated delivery times provided by a shipping carrier are estimates and are not guaranteed by Variegated Greens.
Once a package has been transferred to the carrier, delays, routing changes, weather events, temperature exposure, handling, and other circumstances during transportation may be beyond our control.
Shipping at Customer's Risk
All live-plant shipments are made at the customer's risk. Once an order has been carefully prepared, packaged, and transferred by Variegated Greens to the shipping carrier, responsibility for the risks associated with transit passes to the customer, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Variegated Greens cannot guarantee how a live plant will be handled or the environmental conditions it may encounter after it leaves our care. This includes carrier delays, misrouting, loss, physical handling, temperature exposure, weather-related events, and other circumstances occurring while the shipment is in the carrier's possession.
By choosing shipping and completing the purchase, the customer acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks associated with transporting live plants. This provision does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.
Shipping Stress
Plants may experience some degree of stress during transportation and acclimation to a new environment.
Minor cosmetic damage, temporary yellowing, leaf loss, changes in leaf orientation, or other signs of shipping stress can occur and do not necessarily indicate that the plant is unhealthy.

Local Pickup
Local pickup is available in Markham, Ontario, where offered at checkout or arranged for an eligible order.
Customers choosing local pickup are encouraged to inspect their plant upon receipt.
